My recent scams (last 3-4 months)

* More than 30 calls from CRA, telling me I haven't paid taxes for the year 2014, 2015 and so on, and police are on their way to arrest me. Most of the times they know my home address, passport name and the name of my businesses. It was very annoying.
I believe they took me off their list (as I had a lot of calls within 2-3 months, and then I had a long conversation with them, making it look that I'm a journalist recording them for youtube. In the last month, I received only 1 call like that.

* Calls from Mariott/Air Canada/other places and hotels that offer me a "free voucher for a 500$", trying to get my information.

* Someone calling me to tell me "my home computer is sending porn" (I know it doesn't, it's just downloading ))

* My relative is in trouble, need to save them from something

* Lots of emails that are usually in the spam folder, I never look there. Probably some guys from Somalia telling me that they received a 1000000$ inheritance and they will give me half if I help them get it.

This month only got 1 call from CRA and 1 call from Air Canada, like 20 minutes ago. Decided to write this here.

It's so strange, to know that we are in 2020, and we still receive all these scam calls, all this crap, that so many people are after what I've earned, it's the way they live, to get me out of my money.

Forgot to add numerous messages on my phone saying that my credit card was permanently blocked and to unblock it I need to call somewhere. Unblock a permanently blocked card that is in a bank that I don't even have an account at... Perfect.

I have had all of those calls especially the CRA calls!
and I also get calls at my home on a Sunday morning from Duct Cleaning companies.
I find it amazing that the Department of Agriculture can find One mad cow on a farm in a part of the world yet we can't locate phone scammers!

I just got a "you were chosen for a week cruise at Caribbean" call.

A call from "Hilton hotel" - 3 scams in 1, I think.

Scam#1 - "You have received a reward, free nights stay". If I start getting any further they would ask for my details and I will have to give small deposit in or give some of my personal details (breast size, for example)

Scam#2 - in the beginning they ask "press 0 if you want to find out". I read that it's a famous scam - they would ask something innocent, but by pressing anything they ask, you agree to something completely different - for example, adding myself to some sort of list (of suckers, I guess, and I see that I have already done it somewhere if they keep calling

Scam #3 - they say "if you wish not to receive anything from us press 2". This is brilliant. I get annoyed, I want to get rid of them and I would press "2" without thinking and get into another scam like that, adding myself to some other list and agreeing to another thing.

“Don’t reply” doesn’t work if I want to see anyone other than regulars.

The worse is the " I am stuck in a foreign country and lost my wallet. Please send western union but don't tell my family. Don't want to alarm them lol.

5 times today.

1) Call from "CRA", saying that I owe money. I told them to fuck off.
2) They called twice again before I blocked them
3) Text message from "CRA" saying I got some money deposited on my account and I should log into website asiancentral.com to deposit it (does anybody really go and log in???) |
4) Call from Westjet with 500$ winning.

Time to change my phone number.

I recently got a call, that had a call display saying Ontario court of justice. I was busy, it didn't leave a message but the number was correct. So I called the court actual line. Was informed when I reached a human, not to answer any other calls, they do not phone people, but that a clever con group had the tech to fool the call displays. Tricky bastards

Yes and they get away with it.
They say its like line hijacking or something.
They connect to a line call your number and say they are Blah Blah and call the number and hang up. But they don't really hang up. When you call the number it is them answering the call. You think you are speaking to the police but you are not. They ask for the info they wanted. Bank account pin number whatever.
then POOF!!! you are cleaned out while you are on the phone with them.
And our government, Bell and the RCMP are working on it.
They just busted some clown in BC for part of this. 2 million dollar house but not in his name. 500K in cash.
Just think about how many people are getting scammed by these guys.
Disgusting.
