Who is the baddest man on the planet these days?

Seems in today's pop culture of showbiz shills and sports heroes, there is now a void...

...it used to be, there were one or two bad dudes who's names struck fear and respect at their very mention. Where'd they all go, and who's standing tall today as true tough guys?

True, real life tough guys I miss?

7. Muhammad Ali
6. Roberto Duran
5. Bruce Lee
4. Tommy Hearns
3. Marvelous Marvin Hagler
2. Frank Dux
1. Joe Hooper

Who do you miss the most? and who do you see as today's REAL tough guys?

Some serious tough guys of today.

1) Randy Couture
2) Georges St-Pierre
3) Brock Lesnar

I agree I also miss the likes of Bruce Lee, Marvelous Marvin and Muhammad Ali. All were a blast to watch when I was growing up.

Demien, here's my list in no particular order:

50 Cent( born to crack head, started dealing drugs at 12 yo, shot NINE times and is a multi-platinum selling rapper and oh so HOT)

Brett Favre (19 years of bone crushing hits and he just keeps coming back for more)

Ben Roethlisberger (head injury in a motorcycle accident (yes the dumbass should of been wearing a helmet), numerous concussions and still is a kick ass quar****ack)

Mike Singletary (1,488 career tackles, hall of famer and had the balls to drop his pants to his players to show them how they were getting ass-raped on the field)

Ibrahim Younis and Francois Calas (doctors in Iraq with Doctors without Borders that have refused to leave Iraq even after being arrested and tortured for being alleged spies.)

Sgt Tommy Rieman (despite being badly injured in an Iraqi firefight, he put himself in harms way to protect his fellow soldiers and was able to direct his soldiers to safety)

Pilot Chesley Sullenburger (despite all odds he lands an airplane that had both engines knocked out into the Hudson River. All passengers and crew survive and he is the last to be rescued.)

All the police and firefighters that rushed into the burning Twin Towers on 9/11/2001, as others ran out and gave their lives.

A good big man will beat a good small man most of the time but I do respect the average sized dudes who can take a beating and keep coming back for more and often win. Wendal Clark, Colton Orr, Forest Griffin, BJ Penn, GSP, Matt Hughes for beating Royce Gracie, Sugar Ray Leonard, the fighting hiltons, and of course Rocky Balboa.

3some great list except for 50cents, I hate that dude and his music.

Dude, you are going to make her cry. She has it bad for 50. Putting on the "Just a lil bit" video is like putting on porn for her. Of course, the three hotties in it probably has something to with it.

Sugar Ray Leonard fought in almost all weight categories and was super charismatic.

I've only got mad luv & respect for sugar. What made him tough was his mind. Not only inside the ring as a consumate strategist/tactition, but outside the ring as shrewd businessman.

Ok - guys, GUYS! The thread is about who is the baddest man on the planet NOW. Memory Lane is all wonderful, and there have been some awesomely great names listed above, but who is THE guy TODAY?

For the record, to me, sports guys in the NHL/NFL/NBA/MLB/MLS are all coddled baby wipes, who are mostly just glorified media-driven figureheads...wannabe tough guys aggrandized and glorified mostly by writers/journalists/TV broadcasters to create revenue. When it comes right down to it, those guys are basically pussies, particular compared to boxers/MMA fighters/full combat martial artists. Add a layer of military combat, and these candy ass sportos aren't even in the same league of toughness. 50 Cent/other gang bangers - Yes Sir. Some of the MoFos I received as US Army [prisoner] trainees in the 80's and 90's from East LA and South Philly were completely fearless, some better trained in weapons/small arms / explosives than some combat vets I knew! Period.

Agree with the non-physical toughness examples listed above absolutely, but that wasn't really what I meant when I said "Baddest Man On The Planet" today.

Cassie Campbell and Mia Hamm!? WTF HOF - have you taken to wearing a skirt full time now that your session with Nikki is behind you!? Dude - get in the game, and put your political correctness to one side, just for this thread, will ya'! Fuck Me! I almost punched my monitor when I read that.......

So, any other comedians wanna try?

Wayne Cashman
Terry O'Reilly
Clark Gilles
Stan Jonathon-one crazy mofo

ROTFLMAO. Don't punch the monitor!
I'm not a fan of MMA or WWE, it just doesn't appeal to me.
Frank Dux was one tough SOB. So, I'll leave it at that!
