Treating women truly as equals is a great thing

I once treated women as individuals to be put on a pedestal. I realized, after years of struggle and sorrow, that this is a wrong approach.

Recently, I have begun to look at women for what they posess, what their actions are and what their perfomance is - exactly as I perceive men. And I have purposely denied myself the laziness of looking at them as sexual objects. I try to avoid looking at the civilian women in my life and thinking about pussy and sex.

(Escorts not included, of course. I still hobby as I always did).

Anyways, in terms of my civilian interactions with women, I have no longer treated women with chivalry. And my whole attitude has changed. At work (I have two jobs now), I no longer lift objects for women when asked. I still get asked, but I refuse to do so. I tell the women to inform HR that they are incapable of doing certain physical tasks and to have someone else assigned to those tasks. It is such a great thing to say in those situations. People at work now realize I really am treating women equally. They don't like my response, but they do respect it for its merits.

I also no longer let women go first in certain instances or offer them my assistance as I did in the past. I really, truly am looking at women as equals and it feels so good to do so.

What I have found is that I feel much less stress and pressure at work. I am much happier when I treat women just as I treat men. I don't try to impress them, I don't give to them, I don't put myself at a loss in favour of helping them. It is a great and new stress reliever for me.

I also refused to pay for a woman's dinner the other night. I went to dinner with her, but as I usually pay for her, she expected me to do so again. I told her I will no longer pay for her and that I wish for her to pay for herself. I felt so happy afterwards and she actually was happier with me too. I could tell she really respected me after I refused.

You guys should give it a try.

I wonder if she will go out with you again. :)

Everyone is different. Some more than others.
I will continue to hold open doors for women.
Also for anyone else following me into a building, for the elderly or infirm I will wait a few moments longer to ensure they get inside without issue.
I will enjoy the brief social connection that comes with this action.
I will smile and thank those who do the same for me.
I will open the car door for any women I am driving.
I will continue to assist co workers in any way I can, lifting or getting items from high shelves, and show appreciation when they help me out.
I will take care of the dinner check when appropriate.
I will continue to treat women and men with dignity and respect.

Thank you for your post, you make the rest of us look good. :)

In the past, I would often help women at the grocery store who wanted my assistance reaching something or lifting something onto their cart. I was asked often, for I have that boyish charm and 'good-boy' look to myself.

But, then I started thinking, why don't these women have their boyfriends or husbands do these things for them?

So, I started to refuse. I have actually said to some women - 'You should get your man to come shopping with you.'

Exactly, it's just being polite. Paying for dinner is fine, nothing wrong with it depending on the situation.

I don't think that helping people has anything to do with gender equality. I help people all the time, women, men, elderly, yonge. There is nothing wrong by being courteous and polite.

People are becoming too self centered. They don't care about others. You are doing a good thing by helping others.

What if that person in the supermarket was your mother or your wife, how would you feel if somebody tells them that?

I help anyone...male or female...or trees because I WANT to. However if you are rude, help isn't on the way. :good:

Ps. Again, MisterAsianLover, your brutal honesty is refreshing.

Why is it that women can ask men to do things for them (think, that's a man's job)....but if we ask them to do something (think, women's jobs...sewing, cooking, etc.) we are considered sexist?

Women don't want to be treated equally. They want to be treated BETTER than men are treated. They want benefits without costs.

A woman will have no problem with Princess Auto hiring more women than men, but they would cry foul if La Senza hired more men than women.

Would you concede that a 50/50 ratio of qualified personal would be ideal?

My old neighbour was really good àt fixing cars and she was a woman. I don't care if you are a woman or man, if you can do
the job then that's terrific. If Princess Auto is doing well then it's employees must be qualified. However I am not a Simp. Man or woman, if I feel like treating u out for dinner that is my prerogative. If I don't dont whine about it. Last week I went out on a date and she reminded me that she was old fashioned and expected a man including me to pay for her dinner while she expected to be treated equally. She is just being cheapand hiding behind this trait with the old fashioned comment. Lame and didnt bother asking her out agaiñ.

I believe in equality, equal pay for equal work, and sharing tasks etc. I know a lady car mechanic and I know a lesbian who does home renovations.
But there is a proper time and place for traditional roles. I believe being a gentleman involves opening doors, paying for dates, etc. I treat my ladies like princesses. I always say please and thank you. But in turn, I do expect them to keep up thier end of the deal and act like a lady.
