If the Canadian government wants us to believe that inflation equals 1 - 2% per annum, why have stamps risen so much.

In 2013, a single stamp for an internal, standard letter was $0.63. Now it is $1.00. In 3 years, the price has increased over 50%.

How does that equate to 1 - 2% inflation per year?

The government is lieing to you. Just an FYI.

It's because they are trying to kill of first class mail delivery . If they can show a significant drop in first class mail delivery they can cut the lettercarrier walks down. It's a job reduction program they are on.

Who believes this chart?

According to the chart, the DJIA has risen almost 40%, but inflation has run only 8% over the same 5 year period. The government wants you to believe two things:

1) That the economy has produced 1/3 more goods and services than it did 5 years ago

AND

2) That the cost of living has only increased 8% in those 5 years.

If you believe that, you are dumber than drywall.
