Sure, just give him a pass on the wife beating

I forgot about that one and did some research.

Hell no but can't dispute pound for pound he would have beaten Ali, Foreman, Frazier, Armstrong, Sugar Ray and Holyfield at their prime.

Well first off he lost twice to Holyfield so that's off the table.

Tyson was the product of Cus D'Amato who cherry picked a lot of stiffs to build up his formidable record in his early career. An acquaintance of mine Conroy Nelson being one of them. Was he a good fighter? Yes. Was he a great fighter? No. He was however a feared fighter who was the best heavyweight from around 1986-1991.

He was once asked how he would fare against Ali to which he replied he would have been beaten. Foreman, Frazier and Norton all would have beat him as well. They were far more skilled and competed in the golden era of the heavyweights with much stiffer competition.

From Wikipedia....
A 1998 ranking of "The Greatest Heavyweights of All-Time" by Ring magazine placed Tyson at No.14 on the list. In Ring Magazine's list of the 80 Best Fighters of the Last 80 Years, released in 2002, Tyson was ranked at No. 72.

The fact is that his persona and perceived invincibility have morphed into something he never was.
